A Virtuous Wife

God gave me the one for me

happy-anniversary-782471_1280My wife and I got married eleven years ago, today.  I thank the Lord for my wife every day.  And I have every reason to do so.  She is a beautiful, loving and caring woman.  She loves me unconditionally.  She is a wonderful mother to our children.  She takes care of our family in ways that I can’t.  She is the one for me for as long as we both live.

Early on in our relationship, before we were engaged, I knew that she was the one for me.  I remember praying to God about her and later receiving a prompting from the Holy Spirit that confirmed she was who He wanted me to be with.  Those who say that God doesn’t know everything, probably never experienced something like that.

God is involved in our marriage

God knows that I need my wife and gave her to me so that we would be good for each other.  “And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:18

God made my wife and I one flesh, in that we are to live our lives in unity under God’s authority.  “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24

God calls me to love my wife and calls my wife to respect me.  “Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” Ephesians 5:33

God made this virtuous woman

The word virtuous is defined as “conforming to moral and ethical principles; morally excellent; upright“.  My wife is virtuous!  She has been the virtuous woman that God made her for as long as I have known her.  And I have seen God work in her life in some amazing ways over the past eleven years.  The Lord molded my wife into who she is today.  She is a virtuous woman who cares for me as God leads her.

“Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.” Proverbs 31:10-12

Happy Anniversary to the woman of my dreams and the love of my life!!!

  1. Dennis,

    Sorry it’s a day late, but Happy Anniversary! Great article and very touching. I can relate, having been blessed by God with a woman who God knew exactly would fill my life. AND, she introduced me to my Lord and Savior to boot! God bless!
